Sip Wine Bar Leaves St. Pete Beach for Downtown Rebrand as Christiane’s

This time, we’re raising a glass to a major move in the local wine scene.

After becoming a beloved coastal gem, Sip—the laid-back wine bar tucked away on St. Pete Beach—is closing its sandy chapter and setting its sights on the city. Owner Christiane Hall is rebranding and relocating the concept to downtown St. Pete, trading in beachy charm for an elevated urban vibe under a new name: Christiane’s.

Let’s be honest: it’s not just a move. It’s a full-bodied transformation.

From Beach Breeze to City Buzz: A Strategic Shift Sip will pour its final glasses beachside by the end of March. The original location—charming but tucked away and easy to miss—was always a bit like a hidden gem. Unfortunately, it stayed too hidden. Between hurricanes and the challenges of competing with neighboring full-service spots, the beach proved more draining than dreamy.

“People just didn’t know we were there,” Christiane shared. “It’s time to bring our wine to where people actually are.”

Enter: Downtown St. Pete. The new 700-square-foot space at 442 2nd Street North—formerly Must Wine Loft—is set to debut as Christiane’s in June 2025, bringing a refined, city-forward take on her signature wine experience.

What’s Pouring at Christiane’s? Think Sip, but with a twist of lime, a swirl of sophistication, and a whole new glass. The downtown location will still serve up warmth and community, but with elevated pours and a reimagined ambiance designed to complement the downtown scene.

🍷 A 20-bottle wine dispensing system with ½-, 3-, and 6-ounce pours
🍺 An upgraded selection of draft beer, bottled brews, ciders, and seltzers
🧀 Fan-favorite charcuterie, gourmet flatbreads, and talk of paninis (!) ✨ Cozy 10-foot wooden bar, indoor/outdoor seating, and event space

And yes—those highly-curated, boutique bottles that didn’t quite sing by the beach? They're getting the spotlight they deserve downtown.

Same Heart, New Label Christiane’s isn’t ditching what made Sip so irresistible—it’s bottling it with a little more polish. You’ll still find those casual bites, friendly pours, and conversation-starting tastings. But with the new menu space, wine machine magic, and event-ready layout, there’s room to breathe, grow, and raise the bar (pun intended).

No Sipyard? No problem. Expect an intimate outdoor café vibe that leans more “urban hideaway” than “firepit fiesta.”

Countdown to the Last Call As the beachside chapter closes, Sip is holding a farewell sale—because if you’re going to say goodbye, you might as well do it with a glass in hand and a deal in the bag. Locals, now’s the time to grab those favorite bottles and toast to the end of an era.
